  • Care Instructions

    <div>

    For a newly installed Tahoma 31 Bermuda Turf lawn, keep the turf consistently moist for the first 2–4 weeks by watering daily (and more frequently during hot or windy weather) until the roots establish and the turf cannot be easily lifted. Avoid heavy foot traffic during this period. Once established, gradually reduce watering frequency and switch to deeper, less frequent watering. Wait until the grass reaches about 5–7 cm before the first mow. Never mow more than one third of the leaf.

    Avoid fertilising immediately after installation unless recommended by your supplier. A quality lawn fertiliser can usually be applied after establishment.

  • Idea Fertiliser

    Apply Lawn solutions Premium Lawn Fertiliser once your turf is established. It is specifically formulated for lawns and provides balanced nutrition with both quick- and slow-release nutrients for healthy growth and colour. Remember to follow the manufactures instructions and water you lawn after your fertilize unless stated.

    Spring (September–November): The best time to fertilise. This encourages strong growth as the weather warms up.

    Summer (December–February): Apply another feed if your lawn is actively growing. Water well after fertilising.

    Autumn (March–May): Fertilise to help your lawn recover from summer and prepare for cooler weather.

    Winter (June–August): Most warm-season lawns need little or no fertiliser. Cool-season lawns may benefit from a light application if they are still actively growing.

Why Choose Tahoma 31® Bermuda Couch Grass?

1

Reduced Water Use with Tahoma 31® Bermuda Couch Grass

Tahoma 31® Bermudas Couch Grass is highly valued for its reduced water requirements once fully established. Thanks to its deep root system and efficient growth habits, it is able to maintain strong colour and density with less frequent irrigation compared to many traditional turf varieties. This makes it an excellent choice for water-conscious landscapes, particularly in warmer climates or regions prone to dry conditions. While regular watering is still important during establishment and extended periods of heat, mature Tahoma 31® lawns can remain healthy and attractive with significantly lower ongoing water use.

2

Excellent Heat and Drought Performance

A key benefit of Tahoma 31® Bermudas Couch Grass in Australian conditions is its strong heat and drought tolerance. It is bred to handle hot climates, maintaining good colour and density even during extended dry periods. Its deep root system helps it access moisture below the soil surface, allowing it to stay resilient when other turf varieties may struggle.
